Start of tour - Johannesburg |
You will be met at the Johannesburg International Airport by a Southern Eagle Tours representative who will hand you all your travel documentation which includes accommodation vouchers, car rental vouchers and detailed maps. A detailed route description will be done and you will be assisted in collecting your rental vehicle. Your vehicle is collected and you depart from Johannesburg, traveling east through the Mpumalanga province, descend the eastern escarpment and enter the world famous Kruger National Park. |

What is a restcamp?
The word "restcamp" is a bit deceiving as it has nothing to do with "camping". The accommodation used in the Kruger National Park are brick or stone cottages or bungalows, usually with a thatched roof. These bungalows or cottages all have private en-suite facilities (WC, shower and wash basin) and air-conditioning. |

After an early morning open-vehicle game drive and breakfast you travel via the Drakensberg Escarpment, past numerous indigenous villages, commercial forests, tropical fruit and citrus plantations to the historic town of Pilgrim’s Rest.

From Cape Town along the Atlantic seaboard, over Chapman’s Peak to Cape Point, then across the peninsula to False Bay. Follow the coastal route past the villages of Pringle Bay and Kleinmond to the famous whale watching town of Hermanus.
