"The Kruger National Park...Majestic in extent, rich in wildlife, grand in its scenic splendour, the Kruger Park is the pride of South Africa. It is here, with the crackling of the fire, interrupted only now and then by the distant roar of a lion, the call of a jackal or the laughing of a hyena, where one really feels at peace and part of nature..."
Southern Eagle Safaris offer a range of Kruger Park safaris to suit every budget and interest. Our Kruger Park safaris are done in small groups of no more than 6 passengers which allows for much greater flexibility regarding route, accommodation and game viewing trips.
Our typical Kruger Park safari combines the Kruger Park rest camps with one or more days at small exclusive game lodges. The private game lodges we use, offer outstanding value for money and are not accessible to large tour groups. Game viewing in the private game lodges are done from specially adapted open 4-wheel drive vehicles, and frequently involves off-road driving in order to get you as close to the animals as possible.
On a Kruger Park safari you will become part of a 2 million hectare (4.9 million acres) expanse of unspoilt Africa and a true haven of the wild. The Kruger Park has a game population which includes 147 species of mammal, 114 species of reptile and more than 500 bird species. The Kruger Park is big game country. Lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant, rhino (the “Big Five”) and tens of thousands of antelope roam the sunlit plains. Leopard stalk the night; shy bushbuck hide in the riverine bush and giraffe browse on the topmost branches of the sweet-scented acacia tree. In no other wildlife sanctuary is so much so readily - and comfortably - accessible to the safari tourist. The park has more than 2600km of well maintained tar and gravel roads which takes one to numerous well-frequented waterholes, tranquil, shaded picnic spots and scenic viewing points. The 26 Kruger Park rest camps offer a range of accommodation, which, together with shops and restaurants cater for the daily needs of safari visitors.
Our guides, who will escort you on your Kruger Park safari, are all highly experienced and do this not as a job, but because of a true passion and love for the Kruger Park and what it stands for. Your Kruger Park safari experience can only be enhanced by the keen eye, in-depth knowledge and wonderful companionship that our safari guides offer.
