Apart from the Kruger National Park, South Africa also offers fantastic MALARIA FREE wild life safari destinations within nature reserves in the Eastern Cape Province.
A fly-in safari to one of these game reserves is ideal for those travellers that do not have the time for the long road journey from any of South Africa’s major cities to these destinations, and prefer the much quicker alternative of a short domestic flight. Daily flights depart directly from the Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban International Airports. This means that you can arrive in Johannesburg, Durban or Cape Town in the morning and be on safari, on an open-vehicle game drive, that very same afternoon. An added advantage to visiting a nature reserve in the Eastern Cape is the fact that the area is MALARIA FREE.
The Private Game Lodges, located inside these reserves, have become world renowned for the luxurious accommodation that they offer, but above all for the excellent game-viewing opportunities. Game drives are done in small groups, using specially adapted open 4x4 vehicles, and frequently involves "off-road" driving in order to get as close as possible to the wild animals of Africa.
A minimum 2-night stay is recommended, however, irrespective of the duration or standard of Fly-in safari you choose, you are assured of a game-viewing experience that will remain in your memories for many years to come. |
