Grewal party Our Southern African experience cannot be put in mere words; that is how extraordinary it was. Every aspect of the trip was wonderful. Not once did we feel unsafe. The people here are exceptionally friendly. They are so kind, friendly and welcoming. They are so warm and good-hearted that they make you feel right at home. We were so relaxed and worry-free. There are so many different things to see and places to go. There is somethng here for everyone. Every place is beautiful in its own right. No pictures can justly reveal the granduer of South Africa. We were able to take away experiences such as riding ostrich, viewing monkeys and penguins from just feet away, flying through a canopy, and much more. We really recommend taking a tour wth a guide because they are extremely experienced and helpful - they make the tour worthwhile. Nielsen Family Dear Andre, What a fabulous safari experience we had at Serondella! With only 4 days (3 nights), you advised us that a private game reserve was the best way to see the Big Five. You were so right! Our first evening drive we not ony spotted a leopard, but followed a mother and son for 30 minutes. Our last morning's drive we found the elusive black rhino (male & female), completing our experience. Our guide, Dave, not only knew where to find the game, but answered our many questions about the animals, plants, and topography. Serondella was a beautiful, intimate oasis amid the buffalo, giraffe, elephants, hippo, rhino, lions, kudu, wildebeast, cheetah, impala and more. Our "rondavelle" cabin overlooked the water hole, which drew giraffe and buffalo while we were watching. Nala and vervet monkeys found their way inside the camp fence. Hostess Kelley (married to Dave) provided delicious meals and drinks and entertaining conversation. We had congenial fellow guests and very comfortable accomodations. We couldn't ask for more! The highlights of our trip? The leopard experience our first morning where the mother patiently waited while her son stalked birds in the bush, moving in and out of view. A family of cheetah, bedding down for the night in the grass. A lovesick male lion, pacing along the fenceline of the adjoining game reserve, waiting for the female on the other side. She stretched, rolled around and flirted shamelessy while he roared and looked very frustrated! Listening to a herd of elephant approach and then emerge from the bush, heading for a water hole. Holmstrom party Dear Andre, We are now back in Sweden from one of the most fabulous journeys we have been on in a long time and we travel a lot.The safari was of course the top attraction but our visit to Cape Town was also interesting. As you know we stayed at the Chapungu Tent game lodge wich is part of Thornybush.This is a fantastic lodge. When we arrived we were greeted by the staff and invited to a drink before we were showed to our ”tents”. Fantastic tents with a luxury feeling.Chapungu gives you a feeling of staying at someones private home. The staff was so friendly and caring and really made us feel welcome.We payed a visit to the near by Thornybush Lodge since their shop is larger and to see if we did the right choise. Thornybush is very luxurious but did not give us the feeling of a private home so we concluded that Chapungu Lodge was the perfect choise. Our safari guide Joe and our tracker Audrey really did all they could to give us an unforgetable safari experience. Already the first day we saw four of the Big five”. They took us so close to these amazing animals. Your arrangement worked perfect. All flights were on time and as I mentioned the arrangements at Chapungu were perfect. To conclude we are very happy with your arrangements and we will recommend you at the site TripAdvisor. One smal suggestion. Many people are not familiar with the custom with gratuity to staff, guide and tracker. We were well aware of this so it was no problem for us but it might come as a surprise if you are not prepared. Bernice George Dear Stefan, I am finally back in Australia and back at work and reality. I told my colleagues, friends and family who all were all fascinated. They asked me if I ever felt alone. I told them that I never felt alone or at any time felt unsafe. I feel totally relax and feel so good and do not want to let go of that wonderful feeling. I would like to thank you and your staff for a wonderful holiday in South Africa. I felt completely supported and safe throughout the tour you have organized for me. The Thorny Bush Lodge – this was a wonderful – the service and tours through the reserve. There were two wildlife trips a day. The lodge services were excellent and also provided me time to relax and unwind from the hectic life style. The meals were excellent. There were animals gracing outside my room and it was so secluded that you felt as if you were the only one at the lodge during your private time. The hotels were all beautifully clean and well serviced. I really liked The Courtyard Hotel in Pretoria. Zambia- The Zambia Sun Hotel – this was earthy, again the staff service excellent and relaxing. Again, the wildlife roaming the beautiful grounds and the waterfalls within five minute or less walking distance. The rooms were clean and the art work beautiful. The sunset cruise was on time and I got beautiful photo shots and met a lovely group of bankers on the cruise who offered to spend the remainder time with me whilst in Zambia. Saturday morning I booked an extra excursion to go for an elephant ride but as the driver drove me there he told me about the lions and cheetahs at the same place. I then changed, spent all morning till late afternoon and spent time with the lions and cheetah and their handlers. That was an out of the world experience and very safe, I was with them from 9:30am to 2:30pm. The Blue train was also a wonderful experience. The service and food were first class standards. Again, everyone were so friendly and I felt completely safe. Met wonderful and lovely friends. Amazing when you a single traveler, they never left me alone and did not dine alone. The excursion in Kimberley were very informative. The manager introduced himself and all the staff. The manager forewarn us when the train drove pass sites of interest and the train will drive at a slow speed to allow us to take photos. My clinical director and his wife want to take this same trip and has asked me to pass your details onto them. They would like to take the trip in December 2011. His name is Dr Raju Lakshmana. Once again, thank you for a wonderful and safe trip. Please find a couple of photos. I will recommend anyone travelling on their own to use to use your service. In addition to his skills as a guide in Kruger, we felt as if there was a separate tour every time we got in the car as Kevin would give us history and geography lessons as we traveled through the country. He was very blunt and honest when we asked questions about South Africa's past and he was extremely knowledgeable and willing to tell us everything we wanted to know. I could go on for pages giving you all the examples of Kevin's attention to detail, but I'm sure you know what an asset he is by now. I just wanted to let you know that we really felt as if we made a friend in Kevin and never felt that he was just a tour guide. We were more than impressed when we returned from our long journey back to the U.S. to find several emails from Kevin containing all the pictures from the safari that he had taken with his great camera. Goh party The wildlife watching at the Kruger Park was indeed a great experience. We also enjoyed the 4x4 vehicle ride at Gomo Gomo lodge very very much indeed as we were very lucky to have seen all the Big 5 animals. We had many interesting sightseeing`s, and we have strong impressions from the beautiful city of Cape Town, and its friendly inhabitant`s. But we have to say that the friendliness and knowledge our guides showed, made our trip even more interesting. We were very impressed by the knowledge Marty showed about the animals, and specially the birds, in Kruger Park. We also want to thank our guide in Cape Town, Brian, for giving us his personal story from the transformation from apartheid to democracy in South Africa. For us it was a very interesting and touching story. Please give them both our best regards! As you understand - we are very satisfied with our trip, and the way it was organized. Harrison party Dear Carina, We are back from a wonderful trip. I could not have asked for a better time. Everything went like clock work. We did not have one thing go wrong. The tour's that you set up for us were very enjoyable and informative. We had beautiful weather and got to table mountain and the lift (what a beautiful view). As far as the people of South Africa they are the most friendly people I have ever met. When we were finished with the trip we all felt that we did not miss seeing anything, considering the amount of time we had in your wonderful country. All of the accommodations were wonderful and the breakfast that were included were great. The only tour that we thought was probably not worth going on was the boat ride to see the seals. The boat just went out to the island and sat there for a few minuets and then went back. It did not go around the island so if you were not on the right side it was hard to see the seals. We also got to see seals at the harbor before going out on the boat which was about the same as going to the island. I probably would drop this tour in the future. The wine tour, the city tour, and all of the other tours were great fun. The location of the hotel in Cape Town was wonderful, as we were able to walk everywhere and felt very safe doing so. Our guide in Cape Town was very nice and informative. All of the restaurants he recommended were wonderful and he was very pleasant to be with. He did not rush us at anytime and was always willing to do whatever we wanted to do. He also took us to see thing that were not on the tour which were very interesting. We were always met when our flights arrived and taken good care of. The trip to Victoria Falls was also great. The accommodations were wonderful and the fact that we could also have dinner at the Livingstone Hotel made it even more special. The sunset boat trip was very enjoyable and we got to see a herd of elephants and hippos. I only wish we could have stayed longer. It is very difficult to pick a tour company off the internet when you have no idea about them. I feel that I was very fortunate to have picked Southern Eagle Tours. Everyone (especially you Carina) made this experience wonderful. I have talked to friends that did not have the same experience with the tour companies they worked with. I would recommend your company to anyone going to Africa or anywhere else you book. I thank you for making this a fabulous trip for my family.
