For me it was the second time travelling to South Africa with Southern Eagle. It was again spectacular! It was wonderful to see Norman again. We met up again in Cape Town! We did not know that, so everybody was very surprised and happy to see each other again. In Cape Town we met Brian. Harrison party Dear Carina, We are back from a wonderful trip. I could not have asked for a better time. Everything went like clock work. We did not have one thing go wrong. The tour's that you set up for us were very enjoyable and informative. We had beautiful weather and got to table mountain and the lift (what a beautiful view). As far as the people of South Africa they are the most friendly people I have ever met. When we were finished with the trip we all felt that we did not miss seeing anything, considering the amount of time we had in your wonderful country. All of the accommodations were wonderful and the breakfast that were included were great. The only tour that we thought was probably not worth going on was the boat ride to see the seals. The boat just went out to the island and sat there for a few minuets and then went back. It did not go around the island so if you were not on the right side it was hard to see the seals. We also got to see seals at the harbor before going out on the boat which was about the same as going to the island. I probably would drop this tour in the future. The wine tour, the city tour, and all of the other tours were great fun. The location of the hotel in Cape Town was wonderful, as we were able to walk everywhere and felt very safe doing so. Our guide in Cape Town was very nice and informative. All of the restaurants he recommended were wonderful and he was very pleasant to be with. He did not rush us at anytime and was always willing to do whatever we wanted to do. He also took us to see thing that were not on the tour which were very interesting. We were always met when our flights arrived and taken good care of. The trip to Victoria Falls was also great. The accommodations were wonderful and the fact that we could also have dinner at the Livingstone Hotel made it even more special. The sunset boat trip was very enjoyable and we got to see a herd of elephants and hippos. I only wish we could have stayed longer. It is very difficult to pick a tour company off the internet when you have no idea about them. I feel that I was very fortunate to have picked Southern Eagle Tours. Everyone (especially you Carina) made this experience wonderful. I have talked to friends that did not have the same experience with the tour companies they worked with. I would recommend your company to anyone going to Africa or anywhere else you book. I thank you for making this a fabulous trip for my family. Winkler party Hi! I'm just back from a Southern Eagle Tour to South Africa and it was truly a fantastic experience for so many reasons! I was able to visit Krueger Park and on the game drives we spotted elephants, hippos, giraffes, rhinos, leopard, lions, Cape buffalo, guinea hens and antelope! We also stayed at a private game reserve where I was privileged to photograph wildlife right from the balcony of my room. I saw and photographed 3 giraffes, 2 wild boars, 2 Nyalas, several impalla and 2 baboons. It was really exciting to see them in their natural habitat and observe their behavior. As quietly as they had come they left me - just standing there in amazement. I also loved the leisurely sundowner boat ride on the Zambezi River (Zambia)to observe hippos, crocodiles, eagles and other wildlife. But, I must say, the drive through the countryside and coastline was more breathtaking than I imagined! As we made our way along the Garden Route, I got to see the flora and fauna that South Africa is known for - and it was gorgeous! The trip continued to get better and better, with our drive overlooking the Indian Ocean and us being able to see whales right from shore. And Cape Town, in the shadow of Table Mountain, offered so many fantastic photo opportunities I couldn't pass up. All in all, this trip was a great combination of wildlife viewing, city sightseeing and new friends - including the proud people of South Africa. I can't thank our Tour Guide, Andre LaGrange enough for being so willing to share his knowledge and the history of his country. The thought recieved by Brian Nell in Cape Town, as well as his complete explanations, gave us a very good impression of Cape Town and sorroundings. And also the Portswood Hotel in Cape Town was excellent. Their staffs were very charming and professional. The games at Chobe and Xugana were fascinating and the guides were extremly dedicated to transmit us their passion for their environment, as well as Brian did in Cape Town. It has been fascinating to see and feel the power of the sea and its animals there. Also the Vic Falls have impressed us deeply. We have taken with us many lovely impressions. We liked the fact that all our questions & queries were answered so quickly by Andre Liebenberg when making our reservation and afterwards. This was very important to gain our confidence booking with a company and sending our money to them, only knowing them by internet. Also, when you arrive in a non-European land, it is nice to see how everything works so perfectly, to find someone waiting for you at the airport. All our guides were extremely punctual - nearly always arriving 10 minutes in advance to collect us at our hotel. And finally, we can have only good words for your guide Martie. She is exceptionally professional and so helpful to her clients. We have travelled a lot of different places of the world and seen a lot of guides, but with Martie it was lovely to see a person so motivated, who spoke so well about her company and who transmitted to her clients how much she enjoys her job. Our guide / driver Norman was very friendly, very attensive , watchful - very good to travel with him. Kind regards to him and many thanks once more. About the accomodation: Hongonyi Game Lodge - not our favorite, not open enough for us. But very friendly people and very good food. Olifants Restcamp - same than in 1972 our first trip to this camp. The landscape - the beautiful view over the river is the only reason to go there. Chapungu Luxury Tented Camp - we have been very happy there. Conclusion : you did a good job - thank you. It was wonderful from the first to the last minute and i really enjoyed to discover the beauties of South Africa, which appeared to be the absolutely perfect holiday destination! I would also like to thank you for having been very responsive and flexible during the preparations- and of course for the dinner at our last evening in Knysna, which we really did not expect. Both our guides, Johan Strydom and Willem Venter were great! Very professional, very informative and interesting tours and both were just great to be with, easy going and super client oriented. The choice of hotels was also perfect, the Jackalberry Lodge is simply a dream, but also the other places (e.g. La Plume and the new part of Bradach Manor) were wonderful.
