TOUR SUMMARY:

Our 9 Day Hemmingway Safari (4 nights comfort mobile safari with 4 night Luxury Lodge accommodation) is a Comfort Mobile Safari in secluded, exclusive bush camps situated in the famous Botswana Reserves and National Park combined with the experience of lodging.

To experience the real wilderness of Botswana on a mobile camping safari, without losing the comfort of a camp bed with linen and the convenience of an en-suite bathroom, then this is the perfect concept for you. Exclusive campsites give the feeling of seclusion in the vast, untamed wilderness. Relax in camp with a sundowner while the crew prepare and serve delicious ‘bush cuisine’ dinners, served on a candlelit table beneath a canopy of stars. Thereafter, retire to your comfortable and spacious en-suite dome tent for a peaceful night’s sleep in preparation for the next days early morning game drive – and the chance of sighting some of the nocturnal animals whose calls were heard during the night. Game drives and excursions are led by your experienced and informative guide in vehicles specially adapted to the conditions of the safari.

After 4 nights of exploring and experiencing the Moremi area of Okavango Delta you are transferred to your four nights Luxury Lodge accommodation. (2 nights Delta; 2 nights Livingstone).

DETAILED ITINERARY:

Day 1 - Maun Okavango Area of Moremi
On arrival in Maun we are hosted at a local restaurant for a light lunch, after which a scenic air transfer takes us from Maun into Moremi where we are met by our guide for a short transfer to our pre-erected secluded bush camp. After a sunset game drive and a delicious dinner, the sounds of the African night are enjoyed. Game Drive guaranteed with window seats.

Day 2 - Okavango Area of Moremi
The channels and waterways of the Okavango Delta are explored on a mokoro excursion with lunch being enjoyed on an island. We make our way back to our camp during an afternoon game drive, taking in the changing colours of an African sunset. Game Drive guaranteed with window seats.

Day 3 & 4: Khwai area of Moremi
After breakfast our safari crew expertly moves our exclusive camp to the Khwai flood plains, while we continue to explore the park. Game Drive guaranteed with window seats.

Day 5 & 6: Moremi to Luxury Lodge in Delta
After breakfast we enjoy an early morning game drive, which transfers us to our Luxury Lodge. We make our way up north into the remote and pristine wilderness. This area is famous for its wild dogs and excellent lion and buffalo interaction.

Day 7 & 8: Luxury Lodge to Livingstone / Victoria Falls
After breakfast a scenic flight transfers us to Livingstone / Victoria Falls where we are treated to the surroundings of this diverse area. Be captivated by the majestic Victoria Falls. Experience the cultural heritage of the African people and enjoy game drives.

Day 9 - Livingstone / Victoria Falls
On our last morning we still have time to watch the spectacular sunrise, enjoy a hearty breakfast and exchange contact details with the friendships we have formed during this memory-making safari. After breakfast we will be transferred by road to the Airport.

Tents and Equipment:

  • 2 person spacious dome tent (L3m x W3m x H2.20m) with built In groundsheet, 2 large aerating windows with mosquito netting
  • Safari folding chair
  • 2 comfortable camp beds with foam mattress, linen, duvets, pillows and blankets
  • En-suite bathroom (L1.5m X W3mX H2.20m) with warm shower, towels, hand basin, mirror and flush toilet
  • A large marquee tent (5m x 5m)is used for shade
 

Food and Drinks:

  • 3 wholesome meals each day, with dinner served ‘Al fresco’ under the stars – bush cuisine at its best!
  • Tea and coffee available in camp. Alcoholic beverages not included and may be purchased at the start of the safari
  • South African wine is served with dinner when camping
 

Vehicles:

  • Open sided 4x4 Toyota landcruiser ideal for game viewing
