TOUR SUMMARY:

The 6 day Okavango Safari is one of our Standard Mobile Safaris.
If you are looking to experience the real wilderness of Botswana – to feel the thrill of being “at one with nature” – lying snug in your sleeping bag, gazing up through the window of your spacious dome tent at the galaxy of stars above – the camaraderie of the flickering campfire at night – delicious and wholesome hot dinners prepared by the chef on the open campfire, served on a candlelit table – and all the fun and unique experiences that only a camping safari can offer – BUT without the work! Then this concept is perfect for you.

 

INCLUDES / EXCLUDES:

The safari price includes

  • Light lunch on arrival at a local restaurant (if the flight comes in at 11h50)
  • 5 Nights standard mobile camping with camp bed, mattress, sleeping bag / roll and small pillow
  • All meals when camping, mineral water
  • Park fees, game drives and mokoro excursion
  • Airport transfers on Day 1 & 6

The safari price excludes

  • Flights & airport taxes
  • Soft drinks, alcoholic beverages

DETAILED ITINERARY:

Day 1 - Maun - Bush Camp
We are welcomed at Maun airport by our guide, taken for a light lunch at a local restaurant and then transferred to our camp near Maun. The first evening in the African bush is spent relaxing around the campfire under the bright stars of the southern hemisphere.

Light lunch and Dinner Included

Day 2 & 3: Okavango Area of Moremi
The channels and waterways of the Okavango Delta are explored on a mokoro excursion, with lunch being enjoyed either back at camp or at a shady stop in the wilderness. A late afternoon game drive and sundowners show the splendours of an African sunset.

Day 4 & 5: Khwai Area of Moremi
After breakfast, we move our camp to the Khwai flood plains, and continue to explore the ever-changing scenery of the reserve with our guide. Enjoying early morning and late afternoon game drives, we uncover the secrets of this pristine wilderness area in search of the many species of animal and birdlife that make Moremi their home.

Day 6 - Moremi - Maun
An early morning game drive takes us out of Moremi returning to Maun. Time permitting lunch can be enjoyed at a local restaurant (at own expense). Afterwards we transfer to the airport to board our onward flight.

WHAT TO EXPECT ON A STANDARD MOBILE SAFARI

Then this concept is perfect for you. Let the guide and assistant/ cook take care of erecting and dismantling the tents as well as the cooking and camp chores. Come, relax and enjoy your holiday with us...

Tents and Equipment:

  • 2 person spacious, comfortable dome tents (L2.75m x W2.75m xH1.90m) with built-in ground sheet and 2 large aerating windows with mosquito netting.
  • Safari folding chair.
  • Camp bed with 6cm high-density foam mattress, sleeping bag &small pillow.
  • Toilet tent with seated toilet (Botswana).
  • Shower tent with warm bucket shower (Botswana).
  • A large marquee tent (5m x 5m) is used for shade.

Food and Drinks:

  • 3 wholesome meals each day with dinner served ‘Al fresco’ under the stars – bush cuisine at its best!
  • Tea and coffee available in camp. Alcoholic beverages not included and may be purchased at the start of the safari.

Vehicles:

  • Botswana – open sided 4x4 Toyota land cruiser ideal for game viewing.
  • Fridges and battery charging facilities on all vehicles.

Staff:

  • Guide, chef, and camp assistant.
