DETAILED ITINERARY:
(6 NIGHTS / 7 DAYS MOREMI, OKAVANGO AND CHOBE FLY-IN SAFARI)

As conducted from MAUN to MAUN

Day 1 - Moremi Wildlife Reserve
On arrival at Maun Airport you will be met by a representative and transferred by shared light aircraft transfer to camp.
Your time in Botswana will be spent game viewing in the beautiful and incomparable wilderness and surrounding areas of the Okavango Delta. Over 1100 species exist in the varied ecosystems, which comprise the Delta. Wise use of natural resources is the watchword here and the delta is a treasure house to satisfy even the most ardent enthusiast.  Few people in this busy world are privileged enough to visit this inaccessible area and the abundance of wildlife and utter tranquility of the camps are proof enough of this.

Nestled on the edge of a leadwood and fig tree forest, overlooking the vast Khwai River floodplains and beyond into the Moremi Wildlife Reserve, sits Khwai River Lodge. Once here, you are close to Africa's heartbeat and at the centre of a world that has not altered since life began, you can sense the big game heritage from the moment you arrive.
Khwai is world renowned for its large concentrations of big mammals, especially buffalo, hippo and elephant.  It is not unusual to see many different types of wildlife from the comfort of your own private deck.  As a year-round destination for most wildlife, predators especially leopard and lion, are also very active in the area, rated as one of the most prolific in Botswana for viewing wildlife. The exceptional location of Khwai makes it a regular host to elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard, cheetah and wild dogs. This is the perfect location for observing the perennial drama of the African bushveld and provides excellent birding – birdlife can be viewed in abundance with exceptional sightings of wildfowl and raptors near the lodge.

Activities at the camp include morning and afternoon game drives in open Land cruisers, as well as after-dark spotlight game drives.  A cultural visit to a local village can also be arranged, as well as guided safari walks along the Khwai River.  own tent.

Day 2 - Moremi Wildlife Reserve
Khwai has amazing game viewing opportunities and the impressions formed here will stay with you forever - driving through the bush into a herd of elephant, the sound of lion roaring in the distance, a family of baboons squabbling across the river, the lullaby of nesting birds as you sit contemplating the day’s activities, the comfort of the camps and the friendliness of the staff all contribute to an unforgettable experience. Most of all you will feel the special relaxation that freedom “away from it all” brings and will benefit from being part of the wilderness and touching the wild.

Night game drives and walking excursions are also offered at Khwai River Lodge.
For those wanting to relax the lodge has a 'Naturally Wild' gym and spa facility.  Guests can enjoy indulgent massages and body wraps in the facility or, in the privacy of their

Day 3 - Chobe National Park
This morning, after a morning activity and breakfast, you will be transferred by shared light aircraft to the Savute region of the Chobe National Park, an area renowned for its high concentration of Elephant and dramatic eco system.
In the heart of the Chobe National Park, sometimes referred to as the elephant capital of the world, is the Savute, an area that personifies the eternal contrast of Africa.  Savute is an objective lesson in aridity. Rain in this dry place is rare and water is precious.

You find yourself in harmony with a unique timeless place, removed from city life. In Savute, you realize that precious little has changed on these dry plains since time began. And the realization dawns that you are fortunate and privileged to be in one of the last corners of the planet governed by nature.
Accommodation: SAVUTE ELEPHANT CAMP

Day 4 – Chobe National Park
Perched on the former banks of the now dry Savute Channel, Savute Elephant Camp offers a spectacular base to explore the area. With a birds' eye view of the adjacent water hole, just metres away from the camp's main building, the impressions created at Savute will last forever. The Savute is a dramatic area to see high concentrations of elephant and lions. Prides up to 40 strong are not uncommon as are sighting of all the other major predators; the endangered wild dog, leopard, cheetah and the hyena. Savute is also renowned for its excellent birding during the summer months (December through March), as well as being home to some very rare rock paintings drawn by the early Bushmen, who once inhabited the region

Day 5 – Okavango Delta
This morning, after a morning activity and breakfast, you will be transferred by shared light aircraft to Eagle Island Camp, time to be advised locally.

Hidden from the world, deep within Botswana's Okavango Delta, is the paradise we call Eagle Island Camp. Situated on the island of Xaxaba and surrounded by Illala Palms, the camp overlooks a surrounding lagoon fed by the tranquil waterways of the Delta. The area offers exceptionally high quality wildlife viewing with prolific birdlife and mammal sightings. It is also the site of one of the most romantic bars in the world, the Fish Eagle Bar, as voted by the New York Times.  The camp offers a cool retreat from the African sun and is shaded by a canopy of indigenous trees.

Eagle Island Camp at Xaxaba is one of the Delta's most pristine natural locations, a region of myriad waterways, palm-treed islands and vast flood plains. During the months of April through October the camp offers a choice of game viewing by mokoro (traditional dugout canoe), motorised boat sundowner cruises in the surrounding lagoons.  When water levels are low (December through March), morning, afternoon and evening gamedrives are offered, offering guests the opportunity to further explore the surrounding islands. For the more intrepid, safari walks are offered all year around.

Day 6 – Okavango Delta
Today you will have further opportunity to explore the surrounding areas either on foot, by dug out canoe (mokoro), or by motorboat.

The Okavango Delta is one of the world's largest inland water systems, the only inland delta of its kind and a unique oasis of life in the centre of the Kalahari Desert. It stretches over 16,000 square km and supports a staggering variety of animal, plant, fish and birdlife. The water was once thought to have reached the sea, but this is no longer the case. After a series of tectonic uplifts and earthquakes running along geological fault lines, the land at the edge of the Delta now lies lower than that of the surrounding area. Hence the water very rarely flows further south than Maun. The Okavango Delta consists of a multitude of main channels, smaller tributaries and lagoons as well as floodplains, islands and mainland areas. The watercourses are constantly changing due to annual flooding as well as a combination of sediment transport, seismic activity, the construction of termite mounds, and the continual opening up of new channels by feeding hippopotami and the closing of others by new vegetation growth.

Fully Inclusive

Day 7 - End
This morning, after a morning activity and breakfast, you will be escorted to your awaiting shared light aircraft and transferred to Maun Airport for your onward arrangements.
