MATETSI WATER LODGE


           
 


Introduction
On 15 kilometres of private Zambezi River frontage, Matetsi Private Game Reserve is located in a 50 000 hectare/123 550 acre wildlife concession in northwestern Zimbabwe, just 40 kilometres upstream/25 miles from Victoria Falls. The Reserve is unfenced, allowing for the free movement of animals between Botswana’s Chobe National Park and the Zambezi National Park.

 
 

Facilities
Matetsi Water Lodge is made up of three intimate lodges. Each lodge consists of just six spacious suites situated to ensure absolute privacy. Vast teak doors open onto a deck, plunge pool and magnificent view of the Zambezi River. The huge bathroom has twin hand basins, separate w.c, bath, and indoor and outdoor shower. The three lodges are located on the banks of the Zambezi River under a canopy of mangosteen and waterberry trees. Each lodge has its own guest area consisting of a covered open-sided thatched sitting area with fireplace. Dinner is enjoyed under the stars on the banks of the River. The reception and Safari Shop, with a range of African artefacts, basketware, jewellery and clothing, are situated on the banks of the river.

Activities
Twice daily game-drives in open 4x4 game viewing vehicles, daily nature walks on the Reserve led by professional rangers, exciting spotlit night drives, morning and afternoon riverboat cruises, guided canoe excursions along the Zambezi River and fishing. At the Victoria Falls guests can enjoy various activities including a helicopter flight over the Falls, bungee jumping, whitewater rafting and scenic tours of Victoria Falls and surrounding areas (these activities are at an additional cost)

What is included
Your stay at Matetsi Water Lodge is inclusive of accommodation, all meals, local brand drinks, scheduled game-viewing, which includes both land and water activities, park entrance fees and laundry service.

What is not included
Gratuities, curios and all items of a personal nature. Premium brand drinks.

Children
Children are welcome. Regretfully, children 5 years and younger cannot participate in the regular gamedrives, and children 12 years or younger cannot participate in the canoeing activities. Childminders can be booked at an additional cost. Children aged 6 to 11 years are accommodated on game drives at the Lodge Manager’s discretion. An extra bed can be arranged for a child sharing its parents’ suite. No more than one triple per camp at any one time.
