Introduction
Situated on the Zambian bank of the Zambezi River, within the renowned Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park and just 15 kilometres upstream from the spectacular Victoria Falls lies the secluded Thorntree River Lodge. The entire complex has been constructed using natural materials with indigenous woods and thatching providing cooling shade and the unmistakable feel of a true safari camp. The Lodge blends naturally into the riverine vegetation and commands superb river views from its main deck and private verandas. Your safari experience at this, ‘the home of the elephants’, will include on site river activities as well as elephant back safaris along the banks of the Zambezi River (at an additional cost). Thorntree’s close proximity to Victoria Falls, means that a visit to see ‘the smoke that thunders’ is a must for every guest staying at the lodge.

The main lodge area is perfectly positioned to offer guests spectacular views of the Zambezi River. Bush comfort is the order of the day as you sit back, relax and order ice cold drinks from our well stocked bar. Meals are served in the main lodge area and guests are encouraged to interact socially around the communial dining room table. Each secluded and spacious room overlooks the Zambezi River. Enjoy the African bush and Zambezi River from your own covered verandah. All rooms offer bathroom en-suite facilities and are designed with comfort and space in mind.
